Marina has combined experience from management consulting, business development, the financial sector, and work with environmental and social-focused NGOs. She is experienced in data analysis, including assessment of carbon and biodiversity impacts, and qualitative assessments that inform ESG strategies for companies in diverse sectors.
Prior to joining The Footprint Firm, Marina held a role as Sustainability Consultant at Sofies UK (now part of dss+) and has taken part in developing sustainability strategies for both the private and public sector with particular focus on circular economy, extended producer responsibility and the EU Green Deal.
Marina thrives with developing solutions for complex problems and is passionate about the environment in general and ocean health in particular. In the past, she has also engaged in several projects related to climate action and sustainable development while working in companies such as COWI and UN Environment, and is experienced in financial modelling as part of her previous role in M&A. She has served as the inaugural Co-Chair of the Youth Policy Advisory Council of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance and has founded two entrepreneurial projects focused on the circular economy in São Paulo, Brazil.
She holds a Master of Science in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Insper Institute of Education and Research, São Paulo.
